Confronted with multiple fraudulent activities, committed by malicious players – bGlobal required a solution that will enable real-time monitoring and analysis of customer activity, while at the same time, enabling autonomous customer lock-down and disablelment.

Impact of Challenges

The situation that resulted from these issues was one in which the required data set for analysis was continuously growing. While this was going on, the response time was extremely important, which with a growing data set – was constantly becoming slower, in the event that an attack was launched against its service. This is because a slow response may result in losses of thousands of dollars being incurred per minute.

Cloudonix provided bGlobal with a full technology suite to build its solution. By routing its calls to Cloudonix for pre/post processing, bGlobal was able to build a traffic categorization and profiling engine, that was able to “learn” and “adapt” its response, without increasing the response time.

The issue of international toll-fraud is not alien to Cloudonix, as our roots are planted well deep into the telecom world. bGlobal’s unique usage profile is challenging to traditional fraud monitoring platforms. Cloudonix’s ability to provide an in-route analysis and monitoring backend makes it an ideal platform for these solutions.

Implementation

Through the utilization of the Cloudonix platform, bGlobal was able to route calls to Cloudonix before processing them. The routing of calls was accomplished through the utilization of standard SIP signaling, and the analysis and monitoring were carried out through the utilization of a custom-built application.

Within a matter of minutes, the backend service was able to identify fraudulent actions and prohibit them by utilizing a combination of data vectoring and machine learning.
